Hot Foil Stamping

Hot foil stamping uses a process that imprints or ‘stamps’ the foil onto the label using heat and can be used on a wide range of materials. It is incredibly popular for creating highlights on text, lines or images and can be used for great effect. As the process stamps the foil layer it gives an extra dimension to the label and creates contrast with light and movement that is very hard to replicate.

High Build Varnish

Add that extra dimension and a tactile feel to your labels with High Build Varnish. High Build varnish, often referred to as ‘screen varnish’, is a special clear varnish that is applied using a screen printing technique. It  can be used on specific graphic or text elements or used as a solid to create contrast. Similar to the way blind embossing works, screen varnish used as a solid on a single colour can be highly effective to create a luxury look and it is used extensively in the wine, cosmetics and premium food and beverage industries. It creates such a high-end finish.

The use of matt varnish or laminate is also used to give a premium look to many products and labels. Varnishes are an ink that applies a protective coating to the labels, whereas laminates are a layer of material that not only covers the surface of the label but also adds an extra thickness to the label. Laminates are particularly popular as a general way to provide greater protection and ‘robustness’ for labels in a very economical way.

Textured Material:

Wine Material – Icy White 

Even though it says Wine Material, Icy White (Textured) is suitable for a range of label applications and industries, particularly food and beverages, but also any product where you want to give that premium look and add a sensory feel. It is slightly thicker than regular materials so it feels like a more premium material due to the weight. It also has a coated backing which provides a degree of protection from moisture and wet conditions.
